Dar's ALS Journey Blog

I started blogging in December about my mom's ALS journey with My Mom My Hero. My mother is my inspiration. She is battling a horrible disease called ALS. It is my desire to honor my mom for her courage and to inspire others who are facing this disease.

From my first blog:
My mother was diagnosed with ALS in September 2006. Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease,) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease for which there is no treatment or cure. The disease robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of an ALS patient averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis.

I wanted to let you know that I lost access to my blog! I don't know how, I don't know why, and I can't seem to get it back. Hence the new blog you are looking at now.

I will continue to write about my mom, who is my hero. I will also see where else my meandering mind will choose to roam ... stay tuned.
